Puppy Class
This course is designed to give puppies ages 12 to 20 weeks of age the foundation of basic obedience and an opportunity to socialize with people and other puppies. This dog training class is one hour in length meeting once a week for five weeks. We help you to teach the dog how to come when called, sit, and lie down and to stay in those positions. We also teach your puppy to walk on a loose leash without pulling and to go to a designated place and remain there until released. We will show you not only how to teach these basic commands but how to utilize them in your daily life to live in harmony with your dog.
In this dog training class, your puppy will also learn not to jump up on people, counters or kitchen tables. It will also learn to stop play mouthing you, chewing, chasing cats or getting into the garbage. In addition, we will help you with house training (dog potty training), excessive barking and generally give you the tools and information needed to 'civilize' your puppy.
Your puppy will be provided the opportunity to meet and greet the other adults and children present and will enjoy off leash playtime with the other puppies.
The combination of good obedience and well-developed manners developed in this dog training class will insure you enjoy your best friend to the fullest. You will help to prevent many unwanted behavioral issues by attending this dog training class
Don't forget to bring treats! Fun and praise permeates these classes!
Basic Dog Training Class
This dog training class is for dogs 24 weeks of age and up. It is a basic level on leash obedience class that meets one hour a week for five weeks. We teach you to train your dog to come when called, sit, lie-down, stay in those positions, walk on a loose leash without pulling and how to leave your side and go to a place where it learns to remain until released.
This dog training class is about teaching you how to become a calm-understood leader while showing your dog how to be calm and willing to please. We help your dog to become a confident civilized member of your family. You will learn how to keep your dog from jumping up on people and counters, stop excessive barking and chewing, stop chasing the cat, getting into the garbage, and a host of other useful skills.
The format of the class is set up to prepare your dog for the AKC Canine Good Citizen's Test should you decide you would like to try this after finishing the course. The test is not a requirement. In fact, there are no tests, and no one fails our classes. The goal is to help you to train your dog to understand you. We all learn a new language!
Dog Agility Training
Dog agility training classes help to build confidence in your dog and strengthen the human-canine bond. While exercising your dog's body, agility training also stimulates your dog's mind, relieving stress and helping to prevent boredom. Your dog will gain the confidence to negotiate various obstacles including, A-Frames, dog-walks, tunnels, weave poles, jumps and more!
The agility class environment is full of excitement and high level distractions. Dogs must have a reliable off leash recall and must be friendly with other dogs. Dogs with aggression issues are not permitted in this type of class. A reliable off-leash recall can be learned in one week. Give us a call regarding our private off leash lesson programs. Dog agility training classes for beginners, intermediate students and advanced competition enthusiasts are available.
